Guinness World Records Halts All Dealings with Israel
Israeli media reported that volunteer initiative Gift of Life, dedicated to advancing kidney donation awareness, contacted Guinness seeking official recognition for a landmark involving 2,000 Israeli donors whose organ contributions saved lives.
According to the organization, their application "was rejected for political reasons."
The group had already paid required fees and staged a Jerusalem ceremony to capture photographs of all 2,000 donors collectively for Guinness documentation, only to receive correspondence from Guinness declaring: "We are not currently processing record applications from Israel."
Subsequent attempts by the group to clarify the rationale behind this decision and explore potential reversal have gone unanswered, the broadcaster noted.
Rabbi Rachel Haber, who leads the organization, condemned Guinness' decision not to acknowledge the achievement as "unacceptable."
Guinness has issued no statement addressing the allegation.
This development emerges as Israel confronts mounting international isolation connected to its two-year genocidal military campaign in Gaza, which has sparked academic, cultural, political and athletic boycotts worldwide.
From October 2023 onward, the Israeli military has killed more than 70,000 individuals in Gaza—predominantly women and children—and wounded over 171,000 additional victims through a devastating military operation that reduced the territory to rubble. The offensive ceased under a ceasefire agreement implemented on Oct. 10.
